Deanna Rhoades, RMHI
Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern, IMH19167
Deanna believes that every person is internally motivated to achieve happiness and growth. It is the stunting of that motivation that can bring up feelings of grief, anger, sadness or even disconnection from the world and people around you. Life is not meant to be a chore or a punishment to be endured. Deanna aims to create an environment of safety, curiosity and kindness that will allow clients to discover their own means to healing. You will work together to explore the thoughts, feelings and experiences holding you back from the life you want.
Deanna has experience working across a wide variety of populations such as with individuals reprimanded by the justice system for substance abuse counseling and most recently, with children aged 17 and under in an intensive counseling program. She has worked with individuals experiencing low self-esteem, poor anger management, poor social skills, depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions and interpersonal issues. Deanna has worked with parents and their young children via child centered play therapy to encourage positive communication, appropriate limit setting and connection to one another.
Deanna graduated in 2017 with a Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Florida, where she also went on to pursue both her Masters and a Specialists degree in Mental Health Counseling. Deanna is excited to assist clients of all ages and backgrounds in their counseling journey.
